Colleen is a self taught indigenous artist from the Secwepemc Nation in the North Okanagan. Silver Maple Studio is inspired by Colleen's Grandmother Susan. Granny shared her love for the land with Colleen, as a child, Colleen and her Granny would go for walks in nature. Granny taught her about their heritage and to love nature. The Silver Maple Tree was a cherished tree by Granny, because it represents Strength and Healing. That is Colleens wish for all, Strength and Healing.

Colleen is creative and has always been creating something. Her inspiration for her collections comes from the Beauty of Nature. Creating is Colleens way of honouring her heritage and Granny Susan. Strength and Healing. Her biggest accomplishment is her family, married with two daughters and six granddaughters.
